I am a high school senior passionate about improving lives through biomedical engineering, with a particular interest in prosthetics and tissue repair. I have always been fascinated by how the human body works. Through hands-on projects, community involvement and my studies in math and science, I have developed a stronger desire to use my skills to create solutions that directly impact people’s lives and help them move, heal and live better.

About

Academic Focus & School Involvement

My high school ambition was to be a well-rounded student by prioritizing academic excellence while also engaging in diverse extracurricular activities and athletics. This commitment drove me to join top societies like the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta (math society). I also competed in sports, which taught me discipline and teamwork. Furthermore, I broadened my experience as a member of the Multicultural Club and developed business acumen through the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

Bridging STEM to Biomedical Engineering

My core goal is to merge my passion for the living world with my aptitude for design and problem-solving, leading me to pursue a career in biomedical engineering.

This field, at the intersection of biology and medical engineering, is where I can make a tangible impact by designing and improving life-changing tools like advanced prosthetics, regenerative medicine, and medical devices that bring hope and independence to those in need.

My academic foundation at Saraland High School, where I took all honors and dual enrollment classes, reflects my commitment to challenging coursework. Beyond the classroom, my experiences provide a hands-on appreciation for the mechanics of the living body:

  • Athletics: As a wrestler and participant in other sports, I’ve gained a firsthand understanding of anatomy, movement, and performance optimization.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: My skills in art and special effects makeup demand meticulous attention to detail and 3D understanding, which is directly transferable to engineering design.
  • Biological Exploration: My hobbies as a horticulturalist and entomophile are continuous explorations of complex biological systems and structures—the foundation of biomedical engineering.

I am seeking a college that values both academic rigor and hands-on creativity and is confident my unique blend of discipline and applied skills will allow me to thrive. My decision to pursue biomedical engineering is unwavering, and I am highly motivated to secure the education that will make this dream a reality.
